Aloha ʻĀina Gift ('A'ali'i)

Aloha ʻĀina Gift ('A'ali'i)

$88.00Price

An indigenous tree or shrub that can grow up to 30 ft. The durable wood of ‘a‘ali‘i was used to make house posts, canoes and spears. The fruits can be boiled to make a red kapa dye, and the flowers continue to be used to make beautiful lei. Medicinally, ‘a‘ali‘i leaves were mixed with other plants to treat skin rashes (‘ohune or mane‘o).

This native is drought, salt and wind resistant, and highly adaptable.

Give the gift of Aloha to the land who gives us so much!

This gift will go towards our bioclutural education for the community through land stewardship.

To show our appreciation we will plant one native Hawaiian plant for each gift given in Pia Valley O'ahu, a 330 acre nature preserve that we have the honor and Kūleana to steward. You will recieve a digital certificate with the GPS location of your tree, along with an open invitation to visit it.
