Aloha ʻĀina Gift (ʻIlieʻe)

Aloha ʻĀina Gift (ʻIlieʻe)

$40.00Price

ʻIlieʻe is a native, indigenous sprawling shrub that grows 1-3' tall. It's an excellent ground cover plant that can spread up to 15' or more on the ground. It grows well in the full sun or shade, tolerates drought, wind, and heat, and helps prevent erosion.

The white flowers can appear year-round, and parts of the ʻilieʻe were traditionally used to alleviate sores and sprains. The sap was sometimes used as an ingredient in tattoo dyes.
