About the event
We will meet at the Niu Valley Shopping Center main parking lot near 7/11. (Bring a mask to carpool)
We are asking if possible to park at the shopping center and carpool to Anolani street to minimize traffic and crowding. Please be respectful to our neighbors and keep our voices down and not to block the turn around in the cul de sac, their trash bins or mailboxes.
If you are parking on Anolani, please park across the street from the houses.
What to bring:
– SHOES ARE REQUIRED.
– Clothing that can get dirty (long sleeve shirt and pants highly recommended!!)
– Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
– Reusable water bottle(s) and plenty of water (1/2 gallon recommended)
– Snacks and any medications needed
– Rain jacket (in case of inclement weather)
Please Note: There are no bathrooms at the site. Participants will need to trek in the bushes or drive to the nearest bathroom at Kawaikui Beach Park.
All community tools and gloves have been sanitized, we will provide tools and gloves but you are welcome to bring your own tools/gloves. (small hand saws and pick mattocks welcomed)

A brief history of the organization, and history of the area. A talk about watershed health and native ecosystems with a breakdown of cultural importance to ahupua’a management systems.
We will Oli (Chant), then go over invasive species identification, removal & safety protocols.
A chill day with some light clearing, watering & weeding, then some planting.
