"FOR x CHANGE " w/ BWS @ Halawa Xericscape Garden!!!
Join us for some fun in the garden with BWS. Learn about the area and some of their projects! The Halawa Xeriscape Garden displays a series of xeric (dry) plants in a residential-scale setting to demonstrate species capable of providing a visually attractive garden, while using less water.

About the event
Bathrooms: On site
What to bring:
-Mesquito Repellent
– SHOES ARE REQUIRED.
– Clothing that can get dirty (long sleeve shirt and pants highly recommended!!)
– Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
– Reusable water bottle(s) and plenty of water (1/2 gallon recommended)
– Snacks and any medications needed
– Rain jacket (in case of inclement weather)
Activities: We will be gathering in the pavilion. I will have blank forms available to fill out and turn in.
Parking: in the parking lot and overflower below the parking lot on the driveway (next to lawn but not grass)
I will have a jug of additional water but please ask everyone to bring a bottle of water and be prepared for various weather and pests here… lately more mosquitos and passing showers. Also we have mongoose that get attracted by any food left unattended.
Areas that need the most help:
The garden driveway slope -removing cane grass
Cane grass in various other areas including- between dessert rose
Thinning out the song of india/bridal plumeria, dracaena trees
Changing out set up planter with trellis planters for lilikoi vines( will be replacing after this is installed)
Installing 4 plastic palette succulent planter living walls to replace rotten wooden ones.
Cleaning out herb garden containers- all will be replanted by end of july.
