Join us for a special volunteer exchange opportunity where we'll learn about Hawai‘i’s unique native freshwater species and the effect of human influence on their populations. After the lesson, we'll apply the knowledge to help restore the stream together.

This activity is meant for teenagers and adults.
What to expect:
Participants will be involved in a 3-part workshop where they will get equipped with the ethical grounding, content knowledge, & physical skills needed to conduct a stream animal field survey. Stream survey will be conducted at Mānoa-Pālolo Stream. There is no real hike, but we will need to walk down a steep embankment and also walk in knee-deep water with uneven ground. Parking:
Laʻau Place or ʻIolani Student Parking Lot. Participants will need to access La‘au Place (A.K.A. ʻIolani School Driveway) one-way through Date Street, where they can either find street parking or park in the student parking lot (see map and black arrows).
