About the event
8:00AM: Meet at Pu'u 'Ohi'a Trailhead
8:15 - 8:30AM: Protocol, Introductions, Safety
8:30 - 11:30AM: Interpretive Hike (30 minutes with some elevation gain), Mālama ʻĀina w/ breaks (clearing & planting)
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Clean Up, Reflections, Mahalos, Hike back to trail head
- No Bathrooms on site
- Insects/bugs are on site, plants are in bloom. - bring allergy medications as needed
- Park at the Pu'u Ōhi'a Trail- (Carpooling encouraged)
- Waivers must be submitted to koolaupartnership@gmail.com prior
- Print and bring waivers with you
What to bring:
-Mesquito Repellent
– SHOES ARE REQUIRED.
– Clothing that can get dirty (long sleeve shirt and pants highly recommended!!)
– Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
– Reusable water bottle(s) and plenty of water (1/2 gallon recommended)
– Snacks and any medications or allergy medication if needed
– Rain jacket (in case of inclement weather)
TOOLS: All community tools and gloves have been sanitized, we will provide tools and gloves but you are welcome to bring your own tools/gloves.
