Kahanahāiki is located on the eastern border of the Mākua Military Reservation (MMR). The mesic mixed forest vegetation type includes canopy species such as koa, ʻōhiʻa, lama, olopua, and kolea; as well as understory species such as maile, pilo, ʻakoko, and palapalai. Home to many endangered species

What to expect:
Meet Jenna Patague at ANRPO's East Baseyard. The address is 1480 Higgins Rd., Building 1595.
For the mālama portion of our day, we will control invasive species in our Helms Complex restoration area. The
target species include, but not limited to, thimbleberry, corkystem passionflower, and koster's curse. Before
leaving the site, we will take some time to check out common and rare species and the Mākua lookout.
Difficulty: Moderate; some elevation gain. Some steep drop-offs
